Meet Mary Birmingham

Mary Birmingham is the director of music, liturgy
and Christian Initiation at Ascension Catholic
Community in Melbourne, FL. Mary is a graduate
of St. John University’s School of Theology,
Collegeville, MN with a Master of Arts degree in
Theology and Liturgy. She was the recipient of
the Diocese of Orlando’s annual  “Sower Award”
for excellence in the area of evangelization on a
local and national level.

Mary Birmingham’s ministry also extends to the
wider church.
  • She is a team member and institute
    coordinator for the North American Forum
    on the Catechumenate, offering ministerial
    formation to initiation ministers in
    dioceses throughout the United States and
    Canada.
  • She is a presenter at national and diocesan
    workshops in the area of initiation,
    sacramental and liturgical catechesis and
    whole community catechesis across the
    United States and Canada.
  • She has been a presenter for the
    Georgetown Center for Liturgy,
    Spirituality, and the Arts (Georgetown
    University, Washington, D.C.).

Mary Birmingham is the author of four books:
